What? Where are the Updates?

Tue May 5, 2009, 7:17 PM
I suck at updating this. Spring semester at Seminary is almost over to complete my second year. That makes 6 years in school since I graduated from high school. But alas, there will be no letting up! I will be taking two classes this summer, and the heat will be out to blast and burn me also!

Abigail arrives on the tentative date of July 23. She will rule my world when the time comes.

I got two goldfish for a sermon illustration and kept them. Bought a small tank. They swim and they eat, no worries! One is named Mel and the other is ... I don't remember.
Another item I bought for a sermon prop was a two piece skull with a movable jaw. Woah.

Had our yearly fish fry at church. That's our big event. I am planning a Revival for the fall. Got a set of drums from my friend Andrew Orf, so they are sitting at church and I play them when I can (or want to).

I am starting beginning guitar lessons for free at the church soon.

I visited the state prison in Mt. Sterling, IL. I do not want to live in a 9x11 cell with another guy. Met the chaplain and he gave me a full tour during a lock-down. Maybe I'll be preaching or something there, helping him if he needs it.

I uploaded two videos of new demo songs on my MySpace page. [link]

I don't remember if I said on here yet, but my song "One Day" is on a compilation cd coming out soon. It's called "United By Grace." It's weird that I'll be on a real cd and available online and through people.

Hey, how are you doing? How's the wife and your little bean doing?
:icontwotoedtoadtoo:
Busy I guess. I'm working on school work at this moment. I go to school on Tuesday morning, stay the night, and have class on Wednesday. So I'm translating Philippians 1-2 at the moment. Always reading for class or thinking about stuff for church and the people. Coming up we have a community fish fry and camp meeting. Julia and I got some puzzle games for N64. Tetris, Dr. Mario 64, Bust-A-Move, so we have been playing those. I sux at Dr. Mario but I rule Tetris. We basically have no tv channels so have been playing games. I'm researching and working on a paper. It looks like it will lead to my thesis paper for my MA. I'm working on justification in Origen's commentary on Romans. If you don't know who that is, look him up! Getting ready for a concert coming up. When the weather gets warm it looks like I'll have several coming up. Waiting for July 23, baby day! Pray for the church and the people, the community, my sermons and such plz. O, I sold, like, all my comics.

Wow that sounds like you've got a lot on your plate. My life is pathetically empty in comparison. I have a new full time job, which I like for the most part. Other than that I've fallen back into reading. I went to a concert last night, it was so good! I was impressed by every single band, and that is a rare occurrence. That concert was probably as social as I'll be this weekend. I cannot believe you sold all your comics! Since my new job I've started collecting:)
I do know who Origen is, had to write papers and whatnot analyzing his writings...I remember him hard to get through - I like contemporary writers, and most of the papal writings. I also remember that I enjoyed studying the Cappadocians. I'm actually working through one of my old textbooks just cause I find it so interesting - I'm a geek. I will definitely keep everything in prayer.

happy new year! (I'm late, I know)
:icontwotoedtoadtoo:
Hey, i didn't even say Happy New Year. I haven't done anything on here lately even though I haven't had class. All this traveling for the holidays, that's what. I am having a late Christmas at my parents house as I am there now til Saturday.

Thanks! I'm recording on Tuesday...like an actual recording with a full band. I've been invited to be on a compilation cd for my song 'One Day.' So I'm looking forward to that.

awesome! I'd love to hear it when it's all polished, are you going to be putting any of it online or will I have to get a copy of that compilation CD?
(I'd also love to hear your comments on the autobio I wrote, though I know you're still on holidays. Call me rude and impatient, if you must.)
cheers.
